BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Multiple fatalities on North Dakota roadways were reported over the weekend.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation states that as of September 18th, there have been 82 vehicle fatalities. The majority of those crashes have been due to lane departure, or when a vehicle crosses an edge line, a center line or otherwise leaves the traveled way.
NDDOT Safety Public Information Program Manager Lauren Bjork says the weekend added to that number of fatalities so far this year.
Bjork says the way we can reduce highway fatalities is by taking personal responsibility behind the wheel.
Reducing the number of crashes and fatalities is part of the NDDOT’s Vision Zero strategy.
