JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking committee members for their Workforce Committee.
“The Chamber Board recognizes that workforce is a global issue and we want to help Jamestown businesses with the challenges they are facing,” the organization stated. “This committee is striving to improve the recruitment and retention of workforce efforts in the Jamestown area.”
The main focuses of the committee include educational work experience programs, housing, and positive community image.
“This committee has established partnerships with Jamestown Public Schools, University of Jamestown, ND Job Service, and Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation. The committee is currently in the exploring phase. They are identifying current programs and opportunities within our community, and working to help promote those programs even more.”
Ultimately, the chamber says the committee hopes to become the link between the programs offered and our local businesses.
Those interested can attend their meetings on the second Monday of each month at 9 AM. Space is limited and is open for employers, employees, or those interested in bettering the community.
The committee joins 4 other active committees that serve under the chamber including Ag & Energy, Ambassadors, Beautification, Local Regional, and Young Professionals of Jamestown.
