JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Arts Center is all about bringing culture to the community at an affordable rate.
Arts Center Executive Director Mindi Schmitz says donations, memberships, and fundraisers help support their gallery, events like the Downtown Arts Market, and the popular Arts After School program.
One of the non-profit’s biggest fundraisers is Oktoberfest, which will be held this Saturday at the Hansen Arts Park.
Schmitz added that Oktoberfest has become a worldwide celebration of the German culture, which remains prominent in North Dakota.
The fundraiser costs $35 to join and will feature German beers, brats, games, music, and more. Music will be provided by the Blue Whalers and local musician Tim Burchill. Tickets are available at the Jamestown Arts Center or at the event the night of.
Schmitz encourages participants to wear their “lederhosen” with the top costumes winning prizes. The event is Saturday, September 18th at the Hansen Arts Park from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
