VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City was looking to bounce back from a loss in their last outing Tuesday night, as they were getting a team in Devils Lake who has had a rough start to their season.
The first match of the night was the closest of the three matches. Devils Lake would get the first points of the match up. However, after a timeout called by the Hi-Liners midway through the set, Valley City took off and won the first game 25-17.
The Second match of the evening started off close again. Valley City would hold a 5 to 1 lead early on, only to see the Firebirds battle back and tie things up at 5-5. After both teams would exchange points, the Hi-Liners finally took hold of the game and went on to win easily 25-11.
In the third and final set of the night, the Hi-Liners jumped out to a 5 to 1 lead. However, in this game unlike in match number two, the Hi-Liners would expand their lead without any issues arising from Devils Lake. Valley City would cruise easily and win the 3rd and final match by a score of 25-5.
