JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A comeback effort from #2 Jamestown on Thursday night fell short as the Blue Jays lost to #1 Bismarck Century (12-25, 11-25, 25-21, 8-25) in four sets.

Century handled Jamestown in the first two sets and the Patriots were rolling through the third before a come from behind effort propelled the Blue Jays to a third set victory. Jamestown was down 20-17 in the set with Jada Walter at the service line when the Jays rattled off seven straight points to take over in the third. Century bounced back in the fourth to win its 36th consecutive match, a winning streak that extends back to 2019.

Jamestown was led on the attack by senior Annie Nabwe who finished with eight kills. Bernadette Newman and Hunter Petersen each ended the match with seven kills as well. As a team, the Blue Jays were held to just two service aces, one from Walter and the other by Makenna Nold.
