JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay boy’s soccer team ended its four-game losing streak on Saturday as Jamestown won 3-1 over Bismarck Legacy.
It was a pair of first-half goals that put Jamestown out in front for good against the Sabers on Saturday afternoon. In the 14th minute, Gabe Jenison notched his first goal of the year and was followed quickly by a goal from Jarrett Zalumskis, who scored in the 25th minute on an assist from Knoah Weber. Zalumskis leads the Blue Jays in total goals and points with five.
In the second half, Brooks Roaldson picked up his first goal of the season on an unassisted goal in the 49th minute. Jamestown goalkeeper Ryan Larson earned the victory, recording six saves in the Blue Jays’ first win since August 28th.
Jamestown improves to 3-6 in the WDA and overall this season, picking up three big points in the conference standings. The Blue Jays will travel to Minot on Tuesday to take on the Magicians who are currently in first place in the WDA.
