VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – About 300 people took a tour of the new Barnes County Correctional Center during an open house on Tuesday, September 7th.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said they will begin processing inmates into the new facility next week.
Barnes County 9-1-1 Supervisor Sarah Miller said it’s so nice to be in the new building with the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction Senior Superintendent Konrad Johnson said there were some hurdles, but the project moved at good pace.
Klein McCarthy Architects firm owner Scott Fettig said the new facility was designed for safety and efficiency.
The first inmate is expected to be booked into the new Barnes County jail on September 15th.
