JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council took some time Monday to tout the positives the community has seen recently

Earlier in the meeting, it was reported that the city had achieved an A1 rating through Moody’s Investor Service, meaning better bond credit rating for future city business.

Councilmember Dave Steele said he was inspired by the city’s accomplishments after he recently biked more than 400 miles with a group in North Dakota.

Steele brought attention to the new Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium and it’s representation for the community’s ability to work together.

Mayor Dwaine Heinrich added to that, stating that the continued work on the ADM project in Spiritwood and Bison World was positive for the growth of the region.

Heinrich added the Eagles Flatts project is also nearing a start with fencing added around the old Eagles Building set up for demolition.

Councilmember Dan Buchanan also gave kudos to longtime Jamestown Officer LeRoy Gross, who was recently recognized with the prestigious Lone Eagle Award.

Not to be outdone, Buchanan also gave recognition to Major Jason Falk with the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office for receiving the North Dakota Peace Officer of the Year Award.
