WISHEK, N.D. (Unison Bank) – Supporting local organizations and the community is what one financial institution’s mission is about.
Recently, Wishek Public School shared that they were in search of a tenor saxophone to provide their music students with an opportunity to learn and play the instrument. And, Unison Bank chose to support through the donation of a tenor saxophone to the organization.
“We are always excited when we can collaborate with area businesses and service organizations to further the mission of music education in the schools. In our music department we have the program, “Pride Through Partnerships,” that allows for such an opportunity as this to take place,” said Jon Loy, Wishek Public Schools band instructor. “We are grateful to Unison Bank for their generous contribution to our much-needed inventory of band instruments. March on, Wishek!”
Purchased from Eckroth Music in Bismarck, the tenor saxophone will be played by eighth-grade student, Triston Just, as well as other students in future years.
Just is one of the 60 students that Loy teaches throughout the 6th – 12th grade band program.
“I’m really glad that I will be able to continue in band with the same instrument that I started with in fifth grade,” said Just in reference to the newly donated tenor saxophone.
In addition to Loy’s band students, Principal Renae Bosch, Superintendent Shawn Kuntz, Loy, Just and his mother, Ashley, were in attendance for the donation presentation made by Unison Bank employees: SVP Market Manager Greg Bosch, VP Business Banking Officer Nathan Wolf, Insurance Agent Daphne Kessler and Loan Assistant Patti Meidinger.
Since 1965, Unison Bank has been proud of its community bank heritage and the areas they serve. “We’ve been blessed and therefore are honored to give back and support the community,” said Unison Bank President & CEO, Kelly Rachel.
Unison Bank believes it is vital to their customers and communities to reinvest in their futures. Therefore, each year they invest in the communities they are a part of through financial donations, employee volunteer hours and community involvement.
“I am so pleased that we have people who are willing to help out in any given situation that arises,” shared Wishek Public School Principal, Renae Bosch. “Music is a great way to get students involved in more than one way, and Mr. Loy has some wonderful ways to make that happen.”
