(NAFB) – The Department of Agriculture will host webinars on African swine fever as part of African Swine Fever Action Week, September 13-17.

USDA will host daily webinars to learn more about African swine fever and its global spread, actions the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is taking to safeguard the U.S., and biosecurity measures you can implement now to protect the U.S. herd.

The Action Week is part of the continuing efforts to respond to the detection of African Swine Fever in the Dominican Republic and prevent its introduction into the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. ASF has not been detected in Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, and USDA is committed to keeping it out of both islands and the rest of the United States. APHIS is taking this additional action to further safeguard the U.S. swine herd out of an abundance of caution.
