JAMESTOWN, ND. (JimmiePride.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s golf team finished second at the Jimmie Fall Invite, which concluded Monday at Jamestown Country Club.
The Jimmie Orange team finished a combined 121-over par to finish 38 shots in back of Minot State University.
Izzy Marchino (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) finished third after carding an 8-over 80, the top round on Monday. Her total score was 21-over 165 (85-80).
Jayme Carlson (JR/Hartford, S.D.) was eighth at 31-over 175 (91-84), with her seven-shot improvement the best for the Jimmie Orange team. Kyra Vogel (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) tied for ninth at 34-over 178 (92-86), Faith Justesen (SO/Hawley, Minn.) tied for 11th at 35-over 179 (90-89), and Haley Malone (JR/Moorhead, Minn.) tied for 16th at 40-over 184 (93-91).
Minot State’s Anya Ross took first with a 15-over 159 (78-81).
The Jimmie Black team knocked 29 shots off their opening round score and finished fourth at 161-over, 10 shots behind third-place Dickinson State. All five golfers on the squad improved by at least four shots from Sunday to Monday.
Coley Olson (SO/Cook, Minn.) placed 13th at 36-over 180 (94-86), followed by Teagan Fee (JR/Havre, Mont.) in 14th place at 37-over 181 (95-86).
Abby Gremaux (SR/Lewistown, Mont.) tied for 16th at 40-over 184 (94-90), Olivia Wallace (SR/Park Rapids, Minn.) finished 23rd at 50-over 194 (100-94), and Sarah Azure (SR/Jamestown, N.D.) was 24th at 52-over 196 (104-92).
Individually, Ema Lee (SO/Casselton, N.D.) finished 19th at 43-over 187 (92-95), and Lauryn Hibl (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) was 26th at 55-over 199 (102-97).
Jamestown returns to action September 11-12 at the Mount Mercy Invite in Marion, Iowa, at Hunters Ridge GC.
