JAMESTOWN, ND. (JimmiePride.com) – Tate Olson (SR/Cook, Minn.)’s 2-over 70 led the field Sunday and helped the University of Jamestown men’s golf team to the top of the leaderboard following the first round of the Jimmie Fall Invite at Jamestown Country Club.

ROUND ONE RESULTS

Olson’s 70 is one shot ahead of Dickinson State’s Hunter Myran, who finished at 1-over 71. Olson and Myran were the only two golfers in the 50-player field to shoot under par.

The UJ Orange team of Olson, Jackson Worner (JR/West Fargo, N.D.), Jake Huculak (SO/Jasper, Alberta), Max Noffsinger (FR/Ft. Collins, Colo.), and Benjamin Schaefer (SO/New Rockford, N.D.) shot a 15-over 303 and hold an eight-shot advantage over North Central (Minn.) heading into the final round.

Worner is fourth overall at 3-over 75, Huculak and Noffsinger are tied for 11th at 7-over 79, and Schaefer is tied for 17th at 8-over 80.

Treyton Forsman (SR/Lewiston, Idaho) fired a 4-over 76 and is tied for fourth to lead the UJ Black team, which is also tied for fourth at 31-over 319 with Alexandria Tech. Tomas Garcia (FR/Vigo, Spain) is tied for 17th at 8-over 80, Carter Wells (JR/Huron, S.D.) tied for 21st at 9-over 81, Gehrig Geiss (FR/Glen Ullin, N.D.) tied for 23rd at 10-over 82, and Carter Janssen (JR/Rapid City, S.D.) tied for 35th at 13-over 85.

Competing individually, Bridger Hansen (FR/Wahpeton, N.D.) is tied for 23rd at 10-over 82, Adam Nedens (JR/Billings, Mont.) 44th at 18-over 90, and Jed Truax (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) is tied for 45th at 19-over 91.

The tournament concludes Monday morning at 9 with a shotgun start.
