DICKINSON, N.D.(Jimmiepride.com) — The second-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team posted two more victories Saturday, sweeping No. 25 Rocky Mountain (Mont.) College and Dickinson State University at the Blue Hawk Classic.

Key Stats: Jamestown hit .452 in the second set and .424 in the final set to defeat #25 Rocky Mountain College in Saturday’s first match. Despite hitting .062 in set one, the Jimmies held Rocky to -.026 hitting and overcame 10 attack errors. Jayla Ritter (JR/Forest Lake, Minn.) was nearly perfect, making just one error in 17 attack attempts and finished with 10 kills, hitting a team-high .529. Anna Holen (JR/LaMoure, N.D.) also had 10 kills and Corina Huff (SR/Pequot Lakes, Minn.) added nine. Jackie Meiklejohn (JR/Dickey, N.D.) passed out 26 assists and Megan Gaffaney (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) 16. Anna Holen racked up 18 digs and Ellie Holen (FR/LaMoure, N.D.) finished with 14. Ellie also had three of UJ’s seven service aces.

Key Stats: The Jimmies won for the 20th straight match against the Blue Hawks, and are now 25-6 against DSU dating back to the 2006 season. Once again Ritter led the team with nine kills and hit .571 on 14 attempts. Anna Holen had six kills and Taylor Sabinash (JR/Kensal, N.D.) five, while hitting. 833. Kalli Hegerle (JR/West Fargo, N.D.) and Abby Seifert (JR/Princeton, Minn.) also had five kills. Gaffaney passed out 18 assists and Meiklejohn 16 as UJ outhit DSU .301 to .067. Ellie Holen had 14 digs, followed by Hannah Schiele (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) with nine.

Up Next: Jamestown will be at the Bellevue Labor Day Classic, with matches against Texas Wesleyan University and No. 15 Westmont College on September 3, and one match on September 4 against No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan University.
