JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With September right around the corner, residents are encouraged to get everything prepared for the many fall hunting opportunities.

September 3rd is the open date for the deer archery season, which will begin at noon and continue through January 2nd, 2022. Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says a slight change has been made for the season.

You can purchase your license online at gf.nd.gov or at vendors linked to the department’s online licensing system.

Another season that opens is dove season on September 1st. Leier says those who haven’t before may want to consider trying it out.

Another change for hunters is the requirement of the federal duck stamp starting September 1st. Leier says these are required for early Canada goose hunters.

For more information on these and other outdoor hunting items, visit gf.nd.gov.

Listen to Doug Leier talk the great outdoors every Thursday at 7:35 AM with JD in the Morning on Big Dog 95.5 FM.
