BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2021 WDA Volleyball season is set to begin on Friday afternoon and the Blue Jays were picked to finish second for this upcoming year.
Jamestown tied for second place with Bismarck High, but the Blue Jays did earn 1 of the 11 first place votes. The reigning WDA and Class A Champion Bismarck Century was selected to repeat, getting the other 10 first place votes. Jamestown graduated their top two leaders in kills last season in Ella Roaldson and Grace Hegerle, as well as libero Rachel Schiele who led the Blue Jays with 265 digs.
Jamestown will play in the Bismarck Public Schools Invite this Friday and Saturday before playing their first home match of the year on Thursday, Sept. 2 against Dickinson. The West Region Tournament will be held in Watford City, Nov. 11-13. The Class A Tournament is hosted by Bismarck, Nov. 18-20.
