JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Central Valley Health is hopeful the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) full approval of the Pfizer vaccine will encourage more residents to get the vaccine.
On Monday, North Dakota Department of Health Officials stated that the vaccine continues to be the best tool to preserve hospital capacity and protect against COVID-19.
State Health Officer Dr. Nizar Wehbi.
The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age. Another part of the authorization was approval to administer a third dose of the vaccine to certain immunocompromised individuals.
Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says for anyone who has been vaccinated earlier may also be able to get a booster vaccine shot. She says they anticipate more information on that in September.
Iszler added they’ve teamed up with the NDDoH to help make vaccinations easier by holding different drive-up events in the community.
Times are Sundays and Mondays from 12 PM to 6 PM and will continue September. Drive-up vaccinations are also available Wednesdays from 12 PM to 6 PM at S&R Truck Plaza in Jamestown.
Central Valley Health is also offering vaccinations in their clinic. Iszler added for they have the opportunity at the Block Party tonight from 5 PM to 8 PM for those seeking a vaccine.
You can find other sites to get the vaccine using the NDDoH’s vaccine locator by clicking here.
As of Tuesday, August 24th, 47.6% of North Dakota residents ages 12 and older have been fully vaccinated. In Stutsman County, 49.8% or 9,297 residents have been fully vaccinated.
