JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School boy’s soccer team fell 2-1 to unbeaten Minot on Tuesday night in the first home match of the year for the Blue Jays.
Jamestown took the lead in the first half on an unassisted goal from Connor Traut in the 28th minute and the Jays would ride that lead into the halftime break. In the second half, however, Minot would score in the 60th minute to tie the match at one before eventually scoring the game winning goal in the 71st. Both Minot goals were assisted.
The Magicians goalkeeper JJ Dufner picked up the victory, collecting four saves on the evening. Jamestown’s Ryan Larson was solid in goal despite the loss, making eight saves on 10 attempts.
Minot improves to 5-0-0 overall on the season and remains perfect in the WDA at 3-0-0. Jamestown drops to 1-2-0 on the year and in the conference, and all three Blue Jay matches have been decided by a 2-1 final score. Williston comes to Jamestown on Saturday for a match that is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM at Rotary Field.
