JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The fall hunting season is officially upon us.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says the early Canada Goose season got off to a good start last week.
Leier says the deadline to apply for the upcoming fall turkey season is September 1st.
Only North Dakota residents are eligible to apply in the first lottery. Nonresidents can apply for fall turkey licenses that are still available following the first lottery. The fall wild turkey season runs through Jan. 2, 2022.
With that in mind, Leier also encourages hunters to make sure they’re using the online map tools to identify electronically posted private land before venturing out in the field.
Leier added that land open to hunting are found in the 2021 PLOTS Guide. All this information can be found at gf.nd.gov.
