JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After two years, one of Jamestown’s biggest community events will return on August 25th.

The Community Block Party was formed by the University of Jamestown with assistance from the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Downtown Association as a way to welcome in new and returning students to the community and familiarize them with Jamestown businesses and organizations.

Dustin Jensen is the Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs at the University.

After two years away, the University expects there to be an exceptional turnout for the Wednesday event.

John Mazur has helped oversee the organization of the event.

Mazur says they’re still accepting booth registrations and encourages any business or organization to register and have a presence downtown. He added it would also be a great hiring opportunity for area businesses.

Jensen pointed out that the event is one of the first impressions the community can give a student, making it important for that student’s possible future in Jamestown and the University.

The event is free and open to all on Wednesday, August 25th from 5 PM to 8 PM in downtown Jamestown.
