VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 77-year old man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Valley City.

A 19-year old female, Savannah Jo Drake of Valley City was driving a 1991 Ford F-150 in the 300 block of Main Street E just before 10 PM Friday.  A pedestrian, 77-year old Conrad Hoff of Oriska, ND  was walking in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the Ford’s front bumper.  The pedestrian was knocked to the ground and suffered serious injuries.  The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

Barnes County Ambulance transported the pedestrian to Mercy Hospital in Valley City and was later transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo via Sanford Air med where he remains in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.  The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Valley City Police, Barnes County Sheriff, and Barnes County Ambulance responded to the incident.

Restraints: No seatbelt worn, no airbag deployment.
Charges: Under investigation.
