The 48th annual Gaylen Opdahl-Farmers Union Insurance golf tournament was held at the Valley City Town and Country Club last Friday. It was a highly competitive tournament featuring golfers from multiple states.

The winning group shot an 18-under 54 in the five-person scramble and was composed of Jared Lentz, Tom Glandt, Travis Ingstad, Brian Yanish, and Jeremy Wiebe.

Winning the first flight was Dick Gulman, Luz Nelson, Jan Beauchman, Zac Johnson and Nate Zerface shooting a ten-under 62.

Longest drive for the ladies was Liz Nelson, closest to the pin was Nat Zerface, long putt was Doug Bergan and closest to the pin on number three was John Stearns.

The prestigious Spirit of Golf Award for his contributions to golf in Valley City was Alex Bitz.
