JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says there’s still plenty of fishing opportunities as we head closer to fall.
With that in mind, Leier says hunters should also keep their eye on the hunting opportunities as they get closer. This includes the early Canada Goose season with opening day on August 15th in all three zones.
Limits and shooting hours are different from the regular season, while the zone boundaries remain the same. Shooting hours for early Canada goose are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset daily.
You can purchase your early licenses online at gf.nd.gov. The season closes September 7th in the Missouri River zone, September 15th in the western zone, and September 22nd in the eastern zone.
Leier says there are other application deadlines coming up too.
He added that the swan licenses are open to both residents and non-residents.
You can listen to Doug Leier talk the great outdoors each Thursday at 7:35 AM on Big Dog 95.5 FM.
