Jerome Timm, age 88, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, August 4th at Touchmark at Harwood Groves in Fargo.  Visitation will be held held on Tuesday, August 10th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

He was born on January 4, 1933 in Kensal, North Dakota to parents Leo and Anna Timm. Jerome graduated from Kensal High School in 1951. He continued his education at North Dakota State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 1959 and a Master’s Degree in Horticulture in 1963. He was a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. While attending NDSU, Jerome joined the ND Air National Guard and began his training as a fighter pilot.  He often said the best time of his life was the years he spent flying the F-86 Saber jetfighter and loved to share stories of his adventures.  Jerome used his agriculture experience to start his own farm, landscape and teach Ag to high school student. Eventually, he landed with the Natural Resource Conservation Service working in Grand Forks and Barnes Counties. After retiring, he filled his days with traveling and exploring new hobbies.

Jerome was known for his love of wine making, woodworking, auctions, and everything farming.  He often spoke of his childhood growing up in Kensal and the time he spent working with his family to make life work in rural North Dakota.  He also loved searching across North Dakota to find chokecherries to pick with his children and grandchildren, which he used for home-made wine (with a kick).

Jerome is survived by daughter Kristy (Bradley) Walters, his son Joby Timm, and daughter, Cindy (Andy) Wieland, and grandchildren, Justin and Lindsey Walters, Hannah, Parker, and Sarah Wieland and many nieces and nephews.

Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.
