COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mary Stockeland has been a big fan of Elvis impersonator Joseph Hall since he first appeared on season 3 of America’s Got Talent.
Now in hospice, her wish is to see him perform one more time.
Mary’s husband Don says he thinks her love for Joseph’s performance began a while ago.
Don says from there, Mary continued to follow the talented impersonator to more than 20 shows all over the U.S.
Mary has been battling stage 4 colon cancer for the last 8 years, having entered hospice care on July 16th. Her final wish? To see Joseph perform one more time.
Performing as Elvis since 2006, Joseph Hall has won many awards throughout his young career including the “Spirit of Elvis ” award. He has worked with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Legends in Concert, and has officially been recognized as one of the top Elvis tribute artists in the world today.
But in more than 2100 shows, he has never performed in North Dakota.
In his first ever planned show in the state, he says he wouldn’t want to play it for anyone else than Mary Stockeland, his number one fan in North Dakota.
He says a show like this makes it more personal.
Mary’s daughter Ashley says she has been working hard to get Joseph to the state and things kind of fell into place in the planning portion.
Don put it simply.
The concert is open to the public in Cooperstown at the Griggs County High School on August 22nd. Tickets are $25 for adults and kids 5 and under get in free. VIP tickets are also available for $30.
A benefit has been established at Bank Forward in Mary Stockeland’s name.
