Valley City State University interim golf coach Kari Bodine has resigned her coaching position, VCSU athletic director Jill DeVries announced today.
Bodine will remain on the athletic staff as the assistant for sports information and athletic marketing.
“We thank Kari for leading our golf program for the past two seasons, both of which were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said DeVries. “We’re excited to keep Kari on staff in her expanded role with our sports information department.”
Bodine was named interim head golf coach on July 10, 2019. She guided the men’s and women’s teams during the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season. During the 2020-21 season Jocelyn Braunberger and Rory Gentzkow both earned honorable mention All-Conference for VCSU.
During her two years as golf coach, Bodine also worked in the sports information department, handling a variety of duties related to promotion of the athletic department and its student-athletes. Her role in sports information and marketing will expand going forward.
A search for a new head golf coach is underway.
