A funeral mass for Janice Didier-Gernhardt, 84, Sanborn, North Dakota will be 2 pm Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sanborn. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sanborn. Janice passed away on July 24 in the comfort of her own home in Sanborn.
Janice Kunze was born January 3, 1937, daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Monear) Kunze. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Church. Janice married Ralph Didier of Eckelson, ND on November 10, 1955 at St. Mary’s Church. They farmed in the Sanborn area with Janice being a true farmer’s wife bringing many meals to the field. Ralph and Janice raised four children Terry, Dennis, Lawrence and Gerald. Ralph passed away December 4, 1993. Janice married Henry Gernhardt November 1, 2000 in Sacred Heart Church, Sanborn, North Dakota.
She enjoyed fishing, knitting and visiting on the phone. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies which everyone enjoyed.
Janice is survived by her sons, Terry (Lynette) Didier of Rogers, ND, Dennis (Brenda) Didier of Sanborn, ND, Lawrence Didier of Jamestown, ND and Gerald (Melissa) Didier of Valley City. Janice is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Didier, one sister and two brothers.
