OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes School Board has approved a proposal by school administrators to increase the position of school Activities Director, from a part-time one to a full-time position.
During the special meeting on Wednesday, the board finalized the job description and will require that applicants hold a substitute teaching license and be willing to fill in as a substitute teacher as needed. The AD will oversee all school organization and athletics and will serve as a liaison for various athletic booster groups and club teams within the district.
The previous AD was a teacher spent their time split between teaching and activities during the day. OPS Superintendent David Goetz says that in the weeks the part-time job was posted, the district did not receive any applicants.
