VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSU) – Valley City State University officially launched their Forward Together Capital Campaign on Wednesday, July 21 in the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
The campaign aims to raise $25 million for updating student athletic facilities, educational spaces and to provide scholarship support.
VCSU President Dr. Alan LaFave said the early fundraising effort has achieved some success with $3 million in current donations and another $3 million to be committed in September of 2021.
LaFave talked about that and the focus of the multipurpose facility planned for the university in this interview with Steve Urness.
VCSU Athletic Director Jill DeVries said these proposed improvements and additions will be a game changer for the university.
Phase I is an $18 million addition to the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse and $1 million in scholarship enhancements.
Phase II will be a $2 million repurpose of McCarthy Hall and another $1 million to renovate the Student Center.
The Campaign Executive Committee has set a goal of raising $3 million in planned gift arrangements, including charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, bequests and life estates.
