A crowd enjoys Big Guns of the Old West in 2020. This year, the event will be held over two days.
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Due to its continued growth and popularity, the decision was made to extend Big Guns of the Old West into a two day event at Fort Seward in Jamestown.
Site Supervisor Jennie Marks says the day will feature vendors, live exhibits, silent auction, flag raising ceremony, tree ceremony, infantry drill, fashion show, live blacksmith, children’s scavenger hunt, pie auction, and of course the Howitzer cannon and Gatling Gun demonstration.
As an added twist, Marks says they’ve also planned a fun and exclusive fundraiser.
Marks says they’ll limit the cannon pulls to the first 40 who sign up and all proceeds will benefit the Fort Seward Historical Site.
She added the Big Guns of the Old West is one of their busiest times of the summer, but says it’s really when the fort “comes alive.”
