JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An annual ride that raises funds for suicide prevention and awareness makes its return this Sunday.

The 8th Annual Ride to Silence the Stigma is held to bring awareness and silence the “stigma” surrounding suicide.

Monte Rodacker is with the Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club, the group that has hosted the event the last few years. He says all funds go towards promotion of the 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) number, including radio advertisement.

Rodacker says they meet at Stutsman Harley Davidson with registration at 11 AM and kickstands up at 12:30 PM. He says you don’t have to be in the club or have a motorcycle to ride along and participate.

Like they do each year, Rodacker says they’ll have 22 crosses nailed down to commemorate the 22 veterans and servicemen and women who lose their life to suicide every day in the United States.

The cost to join the ride is $20 per rider with all proceeds benefiting Silence the Stigma.

If you or a loved one needs free and confidential support, you can call 800-273-8255 or text 211 to talk to someone today.
