JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In 2015, Dave and Dr. Mandy Sorlie created the Advocating for Neonatal Grief and Early Loss Support (ANGELS) fund. The fund helps families who have experienced the loss of an infant at Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC)

To help support the fund, the Sorlie’s have teamed up with the JRMC to create the golf event Golf “FORE” Angels on July 31st. The event is going into it’s 6th year in 2021.

JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson says 100% of the proceeds go towards medical bills for families who experience both infant loss and sudden infant loss (SIDS).

Jackson added that through this loss, they’ve seen the power of healing when coming together for events like Golf “FORE” Angels.

She said everyone from families to providers come out to support one another.

Dr. Sorlie had this to say about the event.

“As a family physician, I have witnessed the pain and felt the heartbreak that families experience during the loss of an infant. My husband and I could not imagine being faced with a financial burden at the same time. My goal in creating this fund was to help families with the financial burden so they can focus on grieving their loss,” shares Dr. Mandy Sorlie.

To help support the Angels fund, you can participate in the golf event, donate wine or virtual auction items, sponsor the event, donate directly to the fund, or join the luncheon.

The Golf “FORE” Angels will be held at the Jamestown Country Club from 9 AM to 2 PM. Cost per player is $75 and you can register online at jrmcnd.com/giving/events or contact the JRMC Foundation at 701-952-4880.
