Catfishing on the Red River remains very good as the post spawn fish continue to feed and bulk back up.

It seems fish can be caught about anyway you want to angle for them at this point in the season, and mid-river holes seem to be the best bet right now. Sucker and goldeye have been excellent bait choices in recent days. Stay on the move and keep moving until you find active fish. Once you figure out a pattern, repeat it over and over for best success.

Water levels have reached a new low as Grand Forks is just over 900 cfs, Drayton is over 1,200 and Fargo is just above 200 cfs. Some ramps on the Red River are now too short to launch bigger boats so be very careful.

Caution should be exercised when boating (especially below dams) to ensure the safety of you and your equipment.
