DICKEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Originally created for an area man who needed their service, the ongoing Sweet N’ Stickey in Dickey Rib Cookoff has raised money annually for the Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Organizer Chrissy Kartes says they enter their 12th year fundraiser in memory of loved ones who have passed away, most of which have received Hospice care in the community.
Kartes says everything from their entry fee for contestants to their judging and public votes will be donated to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
The event starts when more than 30 participants will cook up ribs to be served after 6 PM on July 10th. Attendees will be encouraged to give a free-will donation for a meal.
Kartes says they’re also still accepting rib cooks to compete. For $40, participants will get their ribs and enter for a chance to win bragging rights for the best ribs.
