CHICAGO, IL. (NewsDakota.com) – Gatorade announced its Girls Track & Field Players of the Year over the weekend, and Jamestown’s Annie Nabwe was named the Gatorade North Dakota Girls Track & Field Player of the Year.

Nabwe, a soon-to-be senior at Jamestown High School, won both the shot put (48’1) and discus (143-9) events at the ND Class A State Meet. She also took second in the 100-meter dash (12.04) and third in the javelin(131′ 9), all while maintaining a 3.94 GPA in the classroom.

At the state meet in May, Nabwe’s distance of 48 feet, 1 inch in the shot put ranked No. 17 nationally among 2021 prep competitors.
