NOME, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hundreds of people attended an open house celebration to check out the renovation work done to restore the 1916 Nome School House, July 1st thru July 4th.

The owners, Chris Armbrust and Teresa Perleberg decided to move their work related passion to Nome, North Dakota a few years ago. They purchased the property, and started the pain staking work of restoring the old school house.

They moved their Sheep, Alpaca and Llamas next door to provide the raw material (Wool) needed for their manufacturing business. It’s called Shepherd Industries, Dakota Fiber Mill and Bear Creek Felting. It’s the only fiber processing mill in North Dakota, and they take orders worldwide.

Starting August 1st of 2021, they will book weddings and other events. They conduct mill tours, classes and will hold retreats. An elevator is being installed to accommodate patrons. Eleven guest rooms will be available for future customers. Camping is another option.
