JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A 10 inning marathon on Tuesday night at Jack Brown Stadium saw Jamestown’s Post 14 Eagles win on a walk-off wild pitch to defeat the Williston Post 37 Keybirds 10-9.

Both sides struggled defensively as the two teams combined for 10 total errors during game one. Jamestown held an 8-5 lead before Williston scored four runs in the top of the sixth off of two errors and three hits to go ahead 9-8. The Eagles would score a run in the bottom of the inning on a Jackson Walters RBI single that tied the game heading into the seventh.

Neither side was able to produce a run until the bottom of the tenth when Isaac Mimong doubled into left with one out. Preston Kroeber came in as the courtesy running for Mimong, and Williston would bounce a pair of pitches allowing Kroeber to score and the Eagles to win in walk-off fashion.

Jamestown’s Payton Hochhalter pitched four solid innings, striking out seven Keybirds but five unearned runs scored off of three Eagles errors while he was on the mound. Walters came in during the sixth inning and got out of a bases-loaded jam for Jamestown and then proceeded to toss four more scoreless frames to earn the victory.

The Eagles scored 10 runs off of eight hits and four Williston errors in game one. Michael Mahoney picked up two RBIs and Connor Hoyt reached base four different times and scored two runs.

Jamestown defeated Williston in game two by a final score of 10-8. The Post 14 Eagles are now 15-6 overall on the season and return to conference play on Thursday when they host Minot.
