JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After a year off due to the pandemic, North Dakota’s longest running county fair is returning in grand fashion.

Through July 3rd, fairgoers will experience static and animal exhibits, fair games, rides, food, free concerts each night, and everything in between. Longtime Fair Board Member Jim Exner says planning the fair is a yearlong process.

Exner says coupled with good weather, they expect a great turnout for this year’s fair.

New board member Rod Wilhelm says they’ll also be celebrating another longtime fair board member who is stepping away after more than 35 years.

Wilhelm says he’s excited to join the fair board and recalls having created some of his fondest memories at the fair including his proposal to his wife.

Live, free concerts grace the stage each evening with The Johnny Holm Band kicking off Wednesday evening, Avenger Joe tonight, Out of Line Friday, and Old Friends on Saturday.

This years rides come from Crabtree Amusements in Texas. Exner says these will be some great, clean rides for the fairgoers.

The rodeo headlines Friday and Saturday with performances beginning at 6:30 PM each night. Wilhelm says Miss Rodeo ND will be at the fair Friday.

On the midway, Freddie Prez will be holding contests sponsored by First Community Credit Union with a chance to win prizes.

Gate admission for 13 years and older is $5, 7-12 is $2, and children 6 & under get in free. A four day pass is available for $12. All day ride tickets are available for $35. The mega pass for rides all four days is $55 and available from Sooper Stop or Neighborhood Grocery in Jamestown.
