JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Post 14 Eagles continued their winning ways on Thursday afternoon as they took down the Watford City Post 29 Walleye 14-1 and 11-1 in two five innings games during an afternoon doubleheader.

Watford City jumped out to an early lead during game one, but Jamestown quickly tied the game at 1 after the first inning. In the second, Post 14 scored 11 runs off of five hits and three walks to jump ahead for good. Mason Lunzman brought in two runs in the inning with a double into right field that scored Michael Mahoney and Gage Orr. 15 batters came to the plate during the 11 run second for Jamestown.

The Eagles would score two more in the third, one off of an RBI double by Max Fronk, and the other on a single from Mahoney. Fronk, Lunzman, and Mahoney all drove in two runs in game one for Jamestown. Kasen Rowell earned the win by going three innings and striking out two, and Orr pitched two scoreless frames in relief.

It was more of the same in game two for Jamestown as they downed the Walleye, 11-1.

Post 14 scored three runs in each of the first two innings, tallying 17 total hits during game two. Jackson Walters earned the win for the Eagles, going three innings and allowing just one run while striking out four. In relief, Brooks Roaldson tossed two scoreless frames, getting two Walleye to strike out.

Jamestown now sits with a 13-6 overall record and a 12-0 mark in the Class A West Region. Post 14 will be back at Jack Brown Stadium on Tuesday when they host the Williston Keybirds in non-conference action.
