JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Great Plains Food Bank will roll out their mobile food pantry for a visit to Jamestown on July 1st.

The Mobile Food Pantry provides fresh vegetables, fruits, shelf-stable items, meat, bakery items, boxed goods and much more to communities in need.

Communications Manager Jared Slinde says they’re pleased to continue helping distribute food through the Farmers to Families Food Box program.

He added that the food distribution events are free and available to anyone who needs it.

Items are distributed right off the truck by Great Plains Food Bank staff and volunteers and delivered directly to people in need. Distributions are set up as a drive-through where clients are able to stay in their cars and items are placed directly inside their vehicle. All in need of food assistance are welcome to come and receive food at no cost.

A short intake form is filled out onsite and no pre-registration or referrals are required. Clients are welcome to attend whichever distribution site works best for them.

The Mobile Food Pantry will first be at St. John’s Catholic Church in New Rockford from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM. They’ll then be in Sheyenne at the High School from 11:30 AM to 12 PM. They’ll end their day in Jamestown at the Jamestown Civic Center from 1:30 PM to 3 PM.
