STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) In a back and forth contest, Post 25 scores four runs in the top of the fifth to stay ahead for good and they move on to defeat Kidder County 6-4 on Monday afternoon. Carrington Post 25 improves to 5-1 overall and 5-1 in district play, KC drops to 0-3 in district play and 2-4 overall.
Kidder County scored one run in the bottom of the second and led after three innings. Post 25 scored two runs including a solo homerun off the bat of catcher Hudson Schmitz and took the lead 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning. KC scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead back at 4-2, one of the runs was a solo homerun from the pitcher Blake Pfaff. In the top of five, Carrington scored four runs and held the lead the rest of the way. Lucas Hendrickson picks up the victory, working all seven, three earned runs, seven strikeouts and six hits. Pfaff suffers the loss, working all seven, two earned runs, 15 strikeouts, five hits and five walks.
Next up for Carrington will be on Thursday at New Rockford, KDAK will have the game starting at 11am.
