JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Chalk artists from across the U.S. are in Jamestown demonstrating their talents as some of the best the medium has to offer.

North Dakota native Shawn McCann says he fell in love with using chalk as a medium early on in his career.

McCann added that what they’re creating in downtown Jamestown is unique and one-of-a-kind. Artists plan and design art that hasn’t been created or seen anywhere else.

Other artists joining McCann in Jamestown this weekend include Jamie & Craig Rogers, Chris Carlson, Tonya Youngberg, Allison Severson, Julie Jilek, Erik Greenawalt, and Sandy Forseth.

McCann says in the chalk art world, they get to meet a lot of other artists and form a “family”.

Being from Wahpeton, McCann says he’s always glad his worldly travels can bring him back to his home state.

Chalkfest will continue through Saturday, June 26th and is free and open to the public at the Jamestown Arts Center.
