JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Works Committee made a recommendation to move forward with plans to conduct City Hall roof repairs.

City Building Inspector Tom Blackmore informed the committee that the roof hadn’t been repaired or replaced since City Hall was built.

Blackmore says the roof is showing extensive signs of deterioration.

He suggested in the advertisement for bids the city seek Cedar Shake Roof removal and disposal and install boral steel stone barclay-HD Metal Shake roofing.

The committee approved to let for bid proposals budgeted in the 2021 site fund.

City Engineer Travis Dillman informed the committee that work continues on the Road Diet project. He was asked if the lines would be repainted along 1st Avenue.

Dirt and planters will possibly be installed later this summer as well.
