MEDORA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hundreds of family members and their friends gathered on the Tjaden Terrance for the 26th annual North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame Honoree Ceremony over looking the Burning Hills Amphitheater in Medora on June 19th.

Legendary thoroughbred horse racing jockey Pat Day gave the keynote address before the ceremony recognizing the achievements of the Class of 2021 Honorees. He said it’s so nice to see the great people in this state start a ceremony with the Star Spangled Banner and prayer to the Lord. Day said it epitomizes something special and spiritual about the western way of life.

And Dale Carlson was inducted into the Pre-1970’s Rodeo.

And something new this year the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant was held before the Cowboy Hall of Fame ceremony.

Elise Burwell of Minnewaukan, ND was selected as Miss Rodeo North Dakota Lady in Waiting during the pageant. She said she set her goal for this honor when she was 9 year old.

National Director Codi Miller said the partnership with the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame is a perfect fit for both organizations. She encouraged others to join their organization to help promote our western heritage, while creating cowgirls with character and helping young women achieve their personal and professional goals.
