CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Carrington conducted their regular city council meeting on Monday, June 14th.
The city approved different consent agenda items including a request for a 4th of July Parade, 2021 fireworks applications, beer and liquor extension to main street for Shamrock Bar, and Headlocks Bar beer and liquor extension.
Mayor Tom Erdmann says they’re working with City Fire Chief Ken Wangen on the Independence Day celebrations, keeping the dry conditions in mind for the firework season.
Erdmann says they’ll monitor conditions and make sure residents are updated with any decisions that are made.
In other city news, Erdmann says the city is working on a purchase agreement with Dakota Growers for a purchase of 6 acres in the industrial park.
Erdmann says final details are being worked on with attorneys and they hope to see some construction in the industrial park this fall.
The city is also in need of a city councilmember to represent the south ward of Carrington.
Erdmann says they’re also seeking someone to serve on the special assessment committee under a six year term.
