LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Redbirds outscored the Lamoure A’s 10-4 in the final five innings to secure the victory Thursday night 16-10 in District 6 Babe Ruth Baseball. Carrington improves to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in D6, Lamoure drops to 2-2 in D6 and 2-3 overall.
Carrington jumped out early in the top of the first inning scoring five runs, Lamoure got four back and then tied the game at six at the end of two, but a big third inning sent the Redbirds over the top scoring seven runs on five hits and they took the lead 13-6 and never looked back. At the plate for the Redbirds, Jack Erickson was 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, scored twice and knocked in three. Owen Lesko and Carter Bowman had three hits each for Lamoure. The Redbirds have scored 56 total runs in their first four games of the season.
Next up for Carrington will be at home against New Rockford on Friday for a non-district game.
