CASSELTON, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The 2021 SCHEELS Softball All-Star Series occurred yesterday in Casselton with senior pitcher Hailey Schaefer representing Valley City.

Schaefer started in the circle for the first game and played well in the four innings she pitched. She allowed five hits, six runs with only two being earned, two walks and struck out three batters. At the plate, she went 0-1 with a walk as the East All-Stars lost 6-2 in game one.

In game two, Schaefer went 0-1 with an RBI while playing first base. The East All-Stars were unable to split the series as they fell 3-2 in game two. Game three will be tonight at 6:00 p.m. following the Skills Competition which begins at 4:00 p.m.

The East All-Stars lead the all-time series 5-4.
