JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown is asking residents to not abuse the grass & brush piles at the landfill and baling facility.
City Councilman Dave Steele reported during the June council meeting that there were items discovered in the yard waste pile that didn’t belong.
Steele stated that the city may need to find a way to deal with the issue to prevent further abuse of the city service.
The yard waste can be taken to the Jamestown Landfill and Baling Facility at 3020 18th Street SE. Call 701-252-5223 for more information.
Later, Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich spoke about the upcoming 4th of July Holiday and allowing fireworks within city limits. At this time, neither the city nor Stutsman County has ordinances to ban fireworks.
Heinrich added that they don’t want to ban fireworks and it’s too early to tell what conditions will be.
Heinrich asks that residents are mindful of conditions when lighting fireworks off within city limits.
City municipal code states that the sale of fireworks within city limits begin July 1st through July 5th and may only be used or detonated on July 1st through July 5th between the hours of 12 PM (noon) to 11 PM with the exception of July 4th from 12 PM (noon) to 1 AM July 5th.
