OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Tuesday, voters in the Oakes area voted for members of the Oakes School Board.
Voters were tasked with filling a one-three year team for the city of Oakes and a one-three year term for the rural area east of Highway 1. From the city of Oakes, John Bakke filed to run while Monica Heimbuch was a write-in candidate. Sonia Meehl and Brian Seyer filed to serve east of Highway 1.
Monica Heimbuch received 139 write-in votes while John Bakke received 123 votes. Sonia Meehl received 174 votes and Brian Seyer received 99 votes.
The results are unofficial until the school board canvasses the results, which will take place on Monday, June 7th.
