JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift across North Dakota, the James River Valley Library System (JRVLS) looks forward to providing some normalcy for the region.

JRVLS Director Joe Rector reports that the Bookmobile will be open and traveling in Jamestown and surrounding communities beginning today, June 1st.

Rector says patrons will be allowed on the bookmobile in smaller groups with windows and doors open. Staff will help guide patrons through and they will only open up during optimum weather conditions. Rector says masks will also be encouraged, but not required.

For those who are still hesitant to visit both Alfred Dickey or the Stutsman County Library, Rector says they continue to offer curbside service.

Rector says multiple communities will have access to the bookmobile in Stutsman County.

Along with that, JRVLS is also holding a Summer Reading Program Kickoff Event today at Leapaldt Park from 4 PM to 7 PM. There will be games, a selfie station, face painting, beanbag toss, story stroll and more. Parents and guardians can also register kids for the summer reading program.

Rector says the board monitors COVID-19 as they decide to change restrictions. Recently, the board approved to be open Saturdays from 11 AM to 4 PM at Alfred Dickey Library.
