JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) is seeking business and stakeholder support for the newly named “Bison World”.

Previously called the Buffalo City Park, “Bison World, A Legendary Experience” has now been officially trademarked property. Now the JSDC is looking for support for the project.

“We are creating a list of companies and organizations that want to be kept informed about our plans going forward or who may have an interest in a formal relationship with the project in the future,” JSDC CEO Connie Ova stated. “Those of us working to bring Bison World to North Dakota don’t want to miss sharing this opportunity with anyone who may be interested.”

The proposed $60 million project is looking for funding through the Legacy Fund, which was created in 2010 by voters and currently stands with about $8 billion.

It was discovered in a study that nearly 8.8 million people will drive directly by the park on I-94 each year while paid attendance is expected to average some 250,000 upon opening and grow from there. The family-oriented theme park will offer significant benefits ranging from major advertising exposure to enhanced brand awareness and loyalty.

Earlier this year, the JSDC authorized $600,000 in economic development funds to Apogee Attractions to complete architectural and engineering work.

“We expect to access the new legacy fund “in-state investment program” in the next few months,” Ova explained. “As part of that effort, we want to demonstrate a broad base of support for the project.”

Documents provided by the JSDC are currently circulating for support on the project. Ova says this varies from potential partnership to sponsorship opportunities for the non-profit tourist attraction.

“These range from preconstruction activities to the ongoing operations of the facility. For local affiliates/franchisees of state, regional or national entities, a letter of intent will be required from your local entity before discussions can commence with your parent organization,” Ova added.
